Alice Marrero Taylor

Alice Marrero Taylor, a retired secretary or Our Lady of Prompt Succor School, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the age of 94.  She was the beloved wife of the late Edward H. Taylor III. Loving mother of Edward H. Taylor IV (Gail), Alan Taylor and the late Peter Taylor. Daughter of the late Peter Marrero (born in Key West, FL) and Casilda Perez Marrero (born in Galicia, Spain). Sister of the late Carmen Marrero. Aunt of Janeen Odom (Hall) and Colleen Foster Dale (Fred). Grandmother of Megan Taylor Picou (Donald). Great grandmother of Olivia Picou and Victoria Picou. She is also survived and fondly remembered by Matthew Windmann, Christopher Windmann, Nicole Windmann, Joshua Odom, along with many relatives, cousins and dear friends.

Alice was a native of Tampa, FL and a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA where she was a devoted parishioner and enjoyed a career as secretary with Our Lady of Prompt Succor School and the St. Louise Toddler Program. Alice loved passing time on her patio watching the hummingbirds, spending time on the beach and being with her friends and family. She was well loved and will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, February 6th. Family is invited from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., friends, neighbors and relatives are invited from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel in Alice’s memory beginning at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA 70001.
