The Krewe of Lourdes will hold its 67th Annual Carnival Ball in the Frederick J. Sigur Auditorium and Grand Ballroom, Chalmette, La. The theme will be, “BEYOND THE SEA”.
Reigning as Queen will be Mrs. Katherine Jackson Tommaseo. The queen is a resident of St. Bernard Parish and is the wife of Rocco J. Tommaseo and the proud mother of Nicco Tommaseo. Katie is the daughter of Sabrina Perez Brown and the late William Keen Jackson III. She is the granddaughter of Clyde and Jean Perez. She has two sisters, Vanessa Brown Rodriguez and Leigh Anne Jackson and one brother, Keen Jackson. She is a graduate of Chalmette High School class of 1995, was chosen to be a member of the Louisiana High School Woman’s Volley Ball All State Athletic Association Team and All Star Team. Katie graduated from Nicholls State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000, was a member of the Lady Colonels Volleyball team and member of Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society. Katie worked in Sales and Marketing for the Holiday Inn Select Convention Center, served as a judicial secretary and began her journey with St. Bernard Parish Government. She is the Tourism Manager for the Office of Tourism in St. Bernard Parish. She serves on many boards in St. Bernard Parish and is currently serving as Chair of the Old Arabi Advisory Cultural Committee. Katie is active in many clubs and committees. Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Our King will be the Hon. Richard J. “Richie” Lewis, a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. Richie is married to Jennifer H. Lewis and they have one daughter. He is the son of Darryl Lewis Sr. and Richelle Stephens and has three sisters and one brother. Richie was elected as Councilman of District C in 2012 and Councilman at Large West in 2015. He served on the S t. Bernard Parish Planning Commission for five years. Currently, he sits on the St Bernard Parish Executive Finance Committee and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Louisiana Restaurant Association and Leadership of St Bernard. He is involved and donates to many local fundraising groups in St. Bernard Parish. Richie is the owner and operator of Gerald’s Donut locations, where he has over 40 employees. He plans on expanding his business in the near future. He opened his corporate office here in St Bernard Parish. Some may say he has the sweetest job in the parish. Richie enjoys all outdoor sports and spending time with his family & friends.

The Krewe of Lourdes Carnival Ball is free and open to the public. A supper dance will immediately follow the ball.
