St. Bernard Parish 4-H Clubs held their annual 4-H Cookery Contest at Davies Elementary

St. Bernard Parish 4-H Clubs held their annual 4-H Cookery Contest at Davies Elementary School.  4-H Club Members prepared a variety of dishes in four categories, Seafood, Egg, Poultry and Sugar.  Dishes were scored on appearance, taste, recipe and food safety.   While the judging was taking place 4-H’ers participated in demonstrations by 4-H Jr. Leader Club Members.  Participants learned how to make healthy snacks such as Ice Cream in a Bag, Turkey Cheese Tortilla Roll-ups, and Fruit & Yogurt Parfait .   

4-H Members with the highest dish scores will have the opportunity to compete against winners from 14 other parishes at the Southeast Area Cookery Contest to be held at The Ponchatoula Lions Club in Ponchatoula, LA in May.
