St. Bernard Parish Schools state testing begins in April

State testing will take place for St. Bernard Parish students throughout the months of April and May. For students in 3rd and 4th grade, testing will take place May 1-5, 2017. Fifth grade students will be taking the English Language Arts test April 4-6, 2017, and the math test April 10-12, 2017. Testing for grades 6-8 will take place on April 10-12, 2017 for English Language Arts and May 1, 3-4, 2017 for math. Paper-based testing will be given to students in grades 3 and 4.  Computer-based testing will be given to grades 5-8.  High school students taking Algebra, Geometry, Biology, English II, English III and U.S. History will take an End of Course exam for each of these courses throughout the month of May.

Students enrolled in state-approved home-study programs and students currently enrolled in private or parochial schools who plan to enter public schools next year in grade 9 must register for this test.  These students may participate in testing at their district public school during the scheduled testing sessions.  Registration is required for participation. Registration forms may be completed at the St. Bernard Parish School Board Administration Office at 200 E. St. Bernard Highway until March 24, 2017.  Office hours are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday.  Registration forms may be faxed upon request.

Students currently enrolled in St. Bernard Parish public schools are not required to register for state testing.
