Kiwanis Lunch Meeting – February 14th with Fire Chief Tommy Stone of St. Bernard Fire Department

Fire Chief Tommy Stone of St. Bernard Fire Department was the guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi. Chief Stone gave us his annual report on 2016 Emergency Responses and Fire Department Equipment. Kiwanis Celebrated Valentines Day having one of our Best Speakers, Chief Stone guest was Lauren Stone his wife. The happy couple had lunch with us at Rocky & Carlo’s. The Kiwanis Club meets at Rocky and Carlos’s every Tuesday for Lunch and on the third Tuesday of the Month Dinner at 6:00 pm, Join us anytime.

Kiwanis Lunch Meeting – March 7th with Dr. Thomas Soniat of UNO

Dr. Soniat is a UNO professor, with research interest in ecology and conservation of oysters. He received a grant from the national Fish and Wildlife Foundation to study sustainable harvesting methods, oyster growth, and natural mortality. The Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi was informed about the future of our Oyster Species from one of the leading experts in the field. It was a very inter es ting desiccation with many question being asked. “I Love Oyster Fried, Grilled, Raw and a good Oyster Dressing” was said by many.
