One-hundred percent of Nunez Practical Nursing graduates pass licensure exam

One-hundred percent of recent graduates (December 2016) of Nunez Community College’s practical nursing program have successfully passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) exam. The NCLEX determines if it is safe for a nursing graduate to begin practice as an entry-level practical/vocational nurse.

“Our program gets students ready to go out into the field as nurses where they are needed most to provide patient care,” said Michelle Bennett, the College’s practical nursing program director. “The success of our students and this 100% pass rate on the NCLEX are evidence of the quality of our practical nursing program,” she continued.

Last year, Nunez made updates to its practical nursing program enabling qualified applicants to complete their technical diploma in as little as 16 months. Detailed information about the admission requirements and practical nursing curriculum can be found at www.nunez.edu/pn.

Prospective students who are interested in practical nursing should apply to Nunez Community College online at www.nunez.edu. Specific questions about the nursing program and its entrance requirements can be directed to Nursing Department at (504) 278-6380 or to Ms. Michelle Bennett at mbennett@nunez.edu. The practical nursing application deadline for fall 2017 is Thursday, March 30, 2017.
