Phyllis Gagliano Cancienne passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the age of 77. Beloved wife of Charles “Buddy” Cancienne, Jr. for 59 years. Loving mother of Tammy Weiser, Lisa Frame and the late Charles “Buddy” Cancienne, III. Daughter of the late Anthony Gagliano, Sr. and Genevieve Fontana Gagliano. Sister of Matthew Gagliano, Perry Gagliano, Nicky Gagliano, Linda Bennett, Janice Ancalade and the late Lena Mae Rabalais and Anthony, Jr., Vincent and Joseph Gagliano. Proud grandmother of Frederick Ubas (Natonya), Ryan Frame, Jonathan Weiser (Melinda), Kelly Frame (Seth), Jessi Cancienne Payton (Steven), Madeline Cancienne, Camille Cancienne and the late Brad Weiser. Also survived by 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was born on October 21, 1939 in New Orleans, LA. She was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and a current resident of Pearl River, LA. Phyllis retired from the Archdiocese of New Orleans after many years of service. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A funeral service began at 1:00 p.m. She was laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
