The Francois de Lery Chapter, NSDAR, hosted the Oliver Pollock Chapter of Kenner for their annual April joint meeting. The ladies then motored to Charlie’s Seafood to have a delicious lunch and conduct a short meeting where they remembered Gloria deValcourt Marcotte, long time resident of Arabi prior to Katrina, who passed away on April 4th and who was a Past Regent of both chapters.

Pictured on the porch of one of the homes Francois Chauvin de Lery built at the Los Islenos Cultural and Heritage Site are members of the Oliver Pollock Chapter domiciled in Kenner. From l. to r.: Joe Dean Krack, Carolyn Graetz, Joan Romig, Judy Mills, Sylvia Major, Ann Bellard, Claire Orth and St. Bernard Parish Historian Bill Hyland. The ladies learned about the impact that the early St. Bernard settlers had on Louisiana.
