Going Green at the St. Bernard Parish Library

What on Earth are you doing for Earth Day? The St. Bernard Parish Library’s Saturday Morning Family Fun Program, set for April 22nd at 10:30 a.m., at the library’s main branch, 2600 Palmisano Blvd., in Chalmette, is the perfect way to celebrate saving our planet. Frank Levy, founding director of the Playmakers Summer Theater Camps in Covington, Louisiana, will be at the library presenting his interactive theatrical production called Holding Up the Sky. Library friends of all ages will help bring to life stories that promote ecology, caring for our environment and being good stewards of the earth. Levy brings everything needed for a first-rate performance—costumes, props, and sound effects. This free, hour-long program involves lots of audience participation so bring the entire family to enjoy the show.

The St. Bernard Parish Library is proud to be able to bring quality programs such as Holding up the Sky to the residents of the parish as well as surrounding areas. Funding for this program is being provided by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs.
