Ten 4-H members from St. Bernard recently attended the Regional 4-H Cookery Contest held in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. 4-H Members competed against first place winners from fourteen surrounding parishes. The 4-H members attending were: Connor Hartman a fourth grader from Davies Elementary/2nd place winner in the Crab category for his Seafood Cornbread Dressing; Braden Sommers a fifth grader from Lacoste Elementary/white ribbon winner in the Egg Main Dish category for his Breakfast Casserole; Ciera Nunez a fourth grader from Lacoste Elementary/red ribbon winner in the Sugar/Pies category for her Banana Pudding; Madeleine DeFraties a fifth grader from OLPS/white ribbon winner in the Poultry category for her Mediterranean Chicken Pasta; Beau Nunez a seventh grader from Trist Middle School/white ribbon winner in the Sugar/Cake category for his Coffee Cake; Emily Stout an eighth grader from Trist Middle School/1st place winner in the Sugar/Cookies category for her Almond Meltaway Cookies; Reese Tassin a sixth grader from Trist Middle School/ white ribbon winner in the Seafood/Crab category for his Crab Dip; Leia Kovesdi a fourth grader from OLPS/white ribbon winner in the Seafood/Crawfish category for her Crawfish Bisque with Stuffed Heads; Grace Abba a seventh grader from Trist Middle/1st place winner in the Processed Poultry category for her Won Ton Chicken Salad; Sydney Derouen a fifth grader from Lacoste Elementary/red ribbon winner in the Egg/Dessert category for her Mirliton Custard Pie and 3rd place winner in the Sugar/Candy category for her Peanut Butter Fudge Brownies.
