Robert “Bobby” Sakowski was called home peacefully on June 27, 2017, on his birthday, at the age of 64. Bobby was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish and worked for the past 36 years at the VA Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. He was an avid fisherman in his earlier years, loved to cook and loved to play poker. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Jocelyn Scorsone Schultz and his father, Oliver Marion Schultz and; his sister Diane Sakowski. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Debbie Nirk Sakowski along with his son and daughter in law, Michael Anthony Sakowski and Candina Sakowski. Bobby was also like a father to Stephen Serio, who was very dear to his heart. He is also survived by his grand babies that were his whole world, and known to as “Pawzie”, Mikayla and Mikenzi and; his brothers Stanley Sakowski and Chip Schultz and; multiple nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Saturday, July 15, 2015 at noon at 1040 Bayou Rd., St. Bernard, LA 70085.
