The Speaker at the June 27, 2017 meeting of the Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard was Claude D. Maher, Executive Director LA Operation Lifesaver and Thomas J. Schmitt, Yardmaster/Operation Lifesaver Kansas City Southern. The topic was Rail Road Safety and R.R. Crossing Safety. Operation Lifesaver is a non-profit international public education program, first established in 1972, to end collisions, death and injuries at railroad right-of-way. At this meeting, the Kiwanis Club installed two new members to the club, Darin and Robin Burns. This brings the toal new members to the Kiwanis Club to 10 for this year.
