St. Bernard girls and families invited to Girl Scout Information Day on October 28

Girl Scouts Krysten Seymore and Rachael McDonald had fun during the Explorer camp session at camp this past summer.

What does 50 percent of female business leaders, 80 percent of female tech leaders, 76 percent of female U.S. Senators and every female U.S. Secretary of State have in common? They were all Girl Scouts. Learn more about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, at an informational meeting on Saturday, October 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m at the First Baptist Church (second floor), 305 E. St. Bernard Hwy., in Chalmette.

The informational meeting will provide girls, grades K to 12, and their families the opportunity to ask questions and register their daughters in Girl Scouts. Adults interested in volunteering are also encouraged to register.

Girl Scouts’ has built girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place for over 100 years, and continues to prepare every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ for a life-time of leadership. Girls can expect to discover new interests, connect with others, and take action on issues that are important to them.

The annual membership fee is $25 for girls and adults. Favorite activities include the outdoors, health and fitness, the arts, science and technology, travel, cookie-selling, and much more. For more information about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, visit www.gsle.org.

The Girl Scout program levels are Girl Scout Daisies, grades K-1; Girl Scout Brownies, grades 2-3; Girl Scout Juniors, grades 4-5; Girl Scout Cadettes, grades 6-8; Girl Scout Seniors, grades 9-10; Girl Scouts Ambassadors, grades 11-12.
