WHY: In an effort to give back this holiday season, Peoples Health has partnered with the Second Harvest Food Bank and Sigur Civic Center to help local seniors celebrate Thanksgiving.
On Tuesday, November 21, local seniors will gather together to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. It’s an opportunity for local seniors to partake in a group meal that feeds both the body and the need for social engagement.
Peoples Health is the proud sponsor of the 7th annual Second Harvest Food Bank’s Thanksgiving and Holiday Meals for Seniors program. This program provides more than 6,000 traditional holiday meals to local seniors in need. The food is prepared at the Second Harvest Community Kitchen and distributed to locations across the Greater New Orleans area, as well as sites in Lafayette, Lake Charles and the bayou region.
