Frieda Lungauer Lafont passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the age of 91. She was the cherished wife of the late Howard Lafont. Aunt of Roland Klier, Lilian Lehner (Norbert), Margit Lungauer and Edeltraud Long (Alfred). Sister-in-law of Margit Lungauer. Cousin of Erwin Jonecu (Christel). She is also survived and fondly remembered by many relatives and dear friends.
Frieda was born in Regensburg, Germany and moved to the United States in 1953. She was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church. Her final years were spent among many friends in New Iberia, LA. She was a dedicated and loving wife and a friend to many. She will be missed by all who were touched by her love, kindness, and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service in Frieda’s memory beginning at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
