Gerald Anthony Hanzo

Gerald “Jerry” Anthony Hanzo, age 77, was born on October 27, 1940, and passed away on December 19, 2017. He was a native of St. Bernard, Louisiana and a resident of Mandeville, Louisiana.

He is survived by wife, Cynthia Gonzales Hanzo; his granddaughters, Monica Hanzo Klaybor (Garrick), and Jessica Hanzo; his siblings, Barbara Hanzo Guillot (Dick), Judy Hanzo Foret (Pete), and James “Jim” Hanzo (Michelle.) He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Quick Hanzo, his son, Kevin G. Hanzo (Debbie), and his parents, Anthony Hanzo, Jr. and Bernice Cantrell Hanzo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry “The Fox,” was a steamship clerk for 30 years on the New Orleans riverfront. He was also a member of the Clerks & Checkers Union #1497. Jerry proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1960 to 1968. He was a charter member of The Big Buck Hunting Club, and he was the president of The Breakfast Club at Ruby’s Roadhouse.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA on Friday, December 22, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with service following at 11:00 a.m. Gerald will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
