Andrew Ernest Vigueira Sr. passed away at home on the morning of December 22, 2017, at the age of 89.
He was predeceased by Geneva Villemarrette Vigueira, his wife of over 60 years to whom he was unconditionally devoted. Loving father of Andrew Vigueira Jr. and his wife Belinda, Brenda V. Whittington and her husband Gary, Edward Vigueira and his wife Mary. Son of Andrew Vigueira and Jeannette Cosse Vigueira. Proud grandfather of Patrick Vigueira and his wife Cindy, Matthew Vigueira and his wife Kelsie, Gabrielle Vigueira, and Adam Vigueira.
Andrew was a native and longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and relocated to St. Tammany Parish in 2007. He proudly served his country in the National Guard and was a longtime employee of Kaiser Aluminum and the St. Bernard Parish School Board. Andrew was an unapologetic Ford enthusiast who loved the outdoors, conversation, and a good laugh. He was also a member of the St. Bernard Antique Car Club and a Eucharistic Minister at San Pedro Pescador Catholic Church.
The family wishes to thank those who cared for Andrew in so many ways throughout his final years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard, LA.
