The guest speaker at the July 24th meeting of the Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi was CHS Basketball Head Coach William “Butch” Stockton. Coach Stockton spoke of his impress ive career starting in 1976 to currently being the coach at Chalmette High School. Coach Stockton was the youngest coach, at 23, to win a state playoff game. He has taken 5 teams to the state playoff games and 4 different high schools to the Final 4 of the state playoff games. Coach Stockton’s special guest was former CHS basketball star Mitchell Robinson who was drafted in the second round of the NBA draft by the New York Knicks.
