Parish President Guy McInnis threw the first pitch at the start of the Amateur Sports Alliance of North America (ASANA), Tournament at Val Riess Park. There are 75 teams participating in the all-female slow pitch tournament. On September 21 the theme was Cancer Awareness Day.

ASANA was created in 2007 as a non-profit organization comprised of women dedicated to promoting the participation of LGBTQ+ people in organized softball competition. Currently, 25 cities in the United States are member leagues, and many of these leagues participate in the ASANA Softball World Series, which is hosted each year in a different member city.
