A good time was held by 5 living generations of an Italian Westbank Family, Palisi, Indelicato, & Giglio, at La Bella Vita in Meraux, La. on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 from noon til 3 pm with food fit for the best Italian hierarchy around. You name it and they had it. Also, entertaining the famiglia was Candace Riedl Lowe, Music and Porta Puppets, Inc., featuring Uncle Wayne Daigrepont and Gail Ledbetter drawing caricatures of all in attendance. The event venue is a beautifully renovated building destroyed by Katrina and is run by two well-known entrepreneurs, Eileen & Rusty Vucinovich, of Vucinovich’s Restaurant in New Orleans East on Michoud Blvd. at Chef Hwy, and can accommodate intimate groups and up to 600. The food is good old New Orleans Creole and Italian consisting of appetizers, cheese & vegetable trays, gumbos, 8 – 10 entrees with sides to accompany and deserts with coffee, and open bar. The lights can change to feel any mood or theme, and service is supreme.
All attendees received a tote with tee shirt, family calendar of birthdates of 7 generations, handouts from State farm Ins., and handmade candy with Italian cookies in it.
