The St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation (SBEDF) and the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce have released information about “Grow St. Bernard,” a joint program aimed at providing professional development opportunities to business owners and their staff. The six-part series is open to all professionals representing new, growing, and pre-revenue small and mid-sized businesses.
The 2019 Grow St. Bernard series includes 90-minute presentations and panel discussions on a variety of topics including time management, accounting, marketing, social media, human resources, business development, and sales. A diverse lineup of notable speakers and business leaders will provide insights on current trends and best practices for business operations.
Now in its third year, Grow St. Bernard continues to introduce essential business principles to the Greater New Orleans region. SBEDF Executive Director, Andrew Jacques, believes this year’s program will deliver the same critical information while offering additional resources to participants. “The need to innovate while developing long-term growth strategies is key to any business community,” explained Jacques. “The 2019 series will offer useful information for new and returning Grow St. Bernard participants, along with access to one-on-one business mentoring via an exciting partnership with the Louisiana Small Business Development Center.”
The Grow St. Bernard series takes place from July 23, 2019 through October 1, 2019. The series is being held at the St. Bernard Port and Torres Law Firm in Chalmette. All sessions begin with coffee, networking, and a light breakfast at 8:00 am.
Participants in the program will also benefit from sharing with each other and building relationships with members of the Grow St. Bernard cohort. St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce CEO, Elizabeth Dauterive, reiterated this sentiment saying, “The St. Bernard Chamber offers the invaluable resource of creating, nurturing and fostering business relationships. The partnerships that we have with our members, and that our members have with each other, are hugely important to the growth of our community.”
Registration for the full Grow St. Bernard series is $100 including access to all six sessions, an individual Gallup CliftonStrengths assessment, and the option to receive business mentoring services. Registration for a single session is $20 per attendee. First-time participants are encouraged to sign up for full series.
