St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office Junior Deputy Academy

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office 2019 Junior Deputy Academy’s second week included a trip to the parish jail and a visit from the Marine Division. During the third week, participants visited with detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau and St. Bernard Parish Firefighters.

The program, which began June 4 and runs through July 11, is designed to teach children ages 10 to 13 about the various aspects of law enforcement.

Formed in 2015, the Junior Deputy Academy is patterned after the Sheriff’s Office Citizens Police Academy for adults.
