Since 2016, St. Bernard Parish Government has worked tirelessly to assist the Flood Protection Authority (FPA) in its obligations to operate pumping stations and maintain drainage in St. Bernard Parish. President Guy McInnis and the St. Bernard Parish Council are disappointed the FPA has decided to walk away from negotiations and attempt to divest themselves from their obligation to operate and maintain drainage and pumping responsibilities.
“My administration and our Parish Council are steadfast in ensuring that the Flood Protection Authority will not take our tax dollars and divest itself of this most important responsibility. We are committed to providing our residents, businesses and taxpayers with the flood protection that we all deserve,” said McInnis.
St. Bernard Parish Government will continue to work through its legal representation and we will keep residents informed.
