The Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard held its June 18 meeting at the Sicilian Room of Rocky & Carlo’s at noon. The guest speaker was Andrew Hundley, Executive Director of Louisiana Patrol Project which started in 2016.
Their Mission: Parole Project enhances public safety through advocacy and effective programming for persons who have served long prison sentences so that they may reach their full potential. Of their 65 clients to-date no one has returned to prison. This is a 501C(3) organization. Taxpayers have saved 2.5 million to-date, with only a $400,000 annual budget. Estimates are that by the end of 2020 taxpayers saving’s will be over 6 million.
