Summer Feeding Program
Each summer, St. Bernard Parish Public Schools provides students with meals. This year’s program will be offered at Chalmette Elementary and Smith Elementary. Breakfast and lunches will be available in a take-and-go style and served simultaneously Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Children under the age of 18 are eligible and must be present to receive a meal. Nurseries interested in participating in the program need to contact Joni Blum at 504-301-2000 extension 1166.
Pandemic EBT Benefits
Amid the ongoing health crisis, Louisiana has been approved for the new Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program. This program will provide extra help buying groceries for the families of the more than 600,000 children who normally receive free and reduced-price meals at school.
Families with students at any of our elementary schools, middle schools, or Rowley Alternative are automatically eligible. An application must be completed at the following website: https://pebt.doe.louisiana.gov/PublicApps/SNP/
Chalmette High School students who received free and reduced-price meals are eligible as well. If your child attends Chalmette High School and you did not complete an application last fall or if your financial situation has changed and you would now qualify for free or reduced lunch, please visit www.sbpsb.org/lunchapp. Once you have been approved for free or reduced lunch, an application for the program can be completed at the website below: https://pebt.doe.louisiana.gov/PublicApps/SNP/
The deadline to apply is June 8th at 4:30 P.M.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your school principal.
