St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrests Violet man wanted for armed robbery by NOPD

Edward Henry

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a Violet man on various charges, including an outstanding warrant for armed robbery out of the New Orleans Police Department, after he fled from deputies, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Edward Henry, 25, of the 3000 block of Lakewood Drive in Violet, was booked Oct. 22 with possession of marijuana, possession of MDMA (Ecstasy), and unauthorized entry, as well as several warrants.

On Oct. 22, around noon, Sheriff Pohlmann said, agents with the Special Investigations Division on patrol in the Violet area came into contact with Henry in front of a residence in the 3100 block of Stacie Drive in Violet.

As agents approached Henry to speak with him, he fled on foot, forcing entry into a nearby residence without authorization from the owner. Henry fled through a back window of the residence, but he was apprehended by agents shortly nearby.

Once in custody, Henry was found to be in possession of marijuana and Ecstasy.

A criminal history check was conducted on Henry which revealed he was wanted for an outstanding warrant for armed robbery out of the New Orleans Police Department, as well as a domestic abuse battery warrant and three bench warrants out of St. Bernard.

Henry was transported to St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked on the above charges.
