St. Bernard Christian Academy Announces The Joey Georgusis Scholarship Opportunity

St. Bernard Christian Academy (SBCA) has set a deadline of March 1, 2021, for receiving applications for the newly formed Joey Georgusis Scholarship. There will be 15 scholarships for the 2021/2022 school year announced by SBCA for Pre-K4 to 7th-grade students. The scholarship will cover the application fee, registration fee, full tuition, and one hot lunch per day. These scholarships are open to new students to SBCA for the 2021/2022 school year. The student must be a resident of St. Bernard Parish or Neighboring Parish, have maintained a 2.0 GPA for the 2020/2021 school year with no lower than a C in conduct. Applicants will be ranked using a rubric based on income, St. Bernard Parish residency, academic standing, discipline records, and an essay. 

Joseph Georgusis, his wife Cheryl, and the Georgusis family have formed these scholarships in honor of Joey who passed away from an untimely death in 2005. Mr. Georgusis stated, “these scholarships will represent my son by giving students an opportunity to attend a private Christian school here in St. Bernard. St. Bernard Christian Academy has shown to provide students an excellent education with a strong foundation on Christian Values”.
