Richard Parker passed away peacefully at his home in Amite, LA. on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at the age of 74. He was a native of St. Bernard Parish, LA, and a resident of Amite, LA since Hurricane Katrina.
He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Deichmann Parker and the loving father of Ricci Parker Moody (Timothy Joseph.) Mr. Parker was survived by the apple of his eyes, his Granddaughter, Riley Payton Parker. He was also the “GrandPUP” to his favorite companion “Trump Gates Parker.” He was the Brother-in-law of Helen D. Gagliano (Michael), Ruthie D. Conrad (Joey), and Cher D. Schmitt (Davey). He was the Popa to Stephanie Moore Bradbury (Ricky) and Paw-Paw Popa to Samantha Brooklyn Bradbury. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Rita Savoca Parker and Alonzo “Jack” Parker, and his grandparents Katie Manno Savoca and Joseph Savoca. He was the son-in-law of the late Betty and Clarence Diechmann.
Mr. Parker was a retired Captain from the St. Bernard Fire Department and a Navy Vietnam War Veteran.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Catholic Service on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 11:00 am at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St, Madisonville, LA. 70447 with visitation from 9:30 am until service time. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W. 21st Ave. Covington, Louisiana 70433. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, (225) 383-6831.
