On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, the St. Bernard-Arabi Kiwanis Club, at its weekly luncheon, had a presentation by Jonathan Zelaya, President of Honduras Compassion Partners, Honduras. This organization is a non-profit working to improve the lives of its citizens in the areas of self-sufficiency, dignity, and healthy living. They work with children and their families, helping them get a better education, housing, and opportunities in their lives. Zelaya is currently a Fellow of IREX a United States State Department funded program. And it’s being hosted by St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation (SBEDF), a local non-profit, learning how to react and be prepared for natural disasters.
