New Grade for Fall 2023 is a national recognition for patient safety.

St. Bernard Parish Hospital (SBPH) earned a “Straight A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for Fall 2023.  A “Straight A” rating is awarded for consistently demonstrating commitment to putting patients first year after year.

“This marks the third consecutive year St. Bernard Parish Hospital has received an ‘A’ Fall Hospital Safety Grade from Leapfrog. I am so proud of our care teams and staff who ensure patient safety is their number one priority,” said Lani Fast, chief executive officer, of St. Bernard Parish Hospital. “Nationally recognized high-quality patient safety and care is available close to home at SBPH.”

The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care, assigns a grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means St. Bernard Parish Hospital made a true commitment to put patients first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, board, clinicians, staff, and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
