On Tuesday May 28, 2024, Parish President Louis Pomes along with members of his staff, members of the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce, and Chamber Director Rhett Pritchard, were all on hand for the Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at Arabi Coin Laundry.
Arabi’s newest full-service self-serve and drop-off, coin-operated laundromat, located at 7609 W. Judge Perez Dr. in Arabi, LA 70032, is a modern laundry oasis. This well-appointed, state-of-the-art laundromat is equipped with the latest technology in appliances, which are meticulously cleaned, monitored, and maintained by their friendly and helpful staff.
There are dozens of brand-new commercial washers and dryers available in an array of sizes and options that are coin-operated, for all of your self-service laundry needs. They also offer the incredibly convenient option of drop-off wash and fold service. This option is available on a walk-in basis, where their welcoming staff will weigh what you bring in, and charge you a total weight-based price per pound, (which is subject to change). Drop-off wash and fold service is currently $0.99/per pound.
Another amazingly convenient feature of this well-appointed laundromat are the extra-large drum washers and dryers, that can accommodate several heavy items in one load, such as; comforters, rugs, coats, and heavy linens. Another notable and carefully thought-out feature of this laundromat is a designated play/sitting area for children furnished with a television, toys, and small chairs.
The owners of Arabi Coin Laundry, St. Bernard Parish residents Nadih Ghanim and Raed Thabata, truly thought of everything, and cut no corners when building and equipping this laundromat. They also own and operate Chalmette Coin Laundry on Paris Rd. in Chalmette, which has been a very successful and a learning experience for the owners. According to them, they have always seen a need for this service in the Arabi area. They’ve diligently worked towards this expansion in their second location, and are thrilled to be open for business now in Arabi.
It is also worth noting that the new building for this location, which sits at the intersection of Judge Perez and Rowley Blvd. is a gleaming white and meticulously constructed new addition to the Arabi streetscape, which was constructed by the business owners’ son, with MRT Construction. Residents may have noticed the record speed in which this building was completed, and agree that it’s a welcomed site. Parish President Pomes, and many others present at the grand opening, made remarks about the craftsmanship, neatness and overall appearance of the building. They expressed support and appreciation, saying how pleased they were to see this dazzling new construction and a promising new business operating in what once was a vacant lot.
