Pathways to Independenceand Empowerment Partners with Toys for Tots to Host Drive-By Holiday Toy Distribution Event

Pathways to Independence and Empowerment, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth aging out of foster care, is proud to announce its first official partnership with the Toys for Tots program. Together, they will host a Drive-By Holiday Toy Distribution Event in St. Bernard Parish on December 21, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Lover’s Golden Event Venue (4720 E. Judge Perez Dr., Meraux, LA). This event will provide free toys to children aged 14 and under and is open to all families in need within the parish.

Toys for Tots, a program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, has delivered hope and joy to less fortunate children for over 70 years. This year, Pathways to Independence and Empowerment has been selected as an official community sponsor, aligning with their mission to empower and uplift youth in the local community.

Event Highlights

Drive-By Distribution: Families can receive toys safely and efficiently from the comfort of their vehicles.
Live Entertainment: Enjoy a performance by local recording artist Ado Soul and the Tribe, adding a lively atmosphere to the event.
Santa Claus Appearance: A special visit from Santa Claus will delight children and families.
Free Refreshments: Hot cocoa and donuts will be provided to children at the exit station to spread holiday cheer.

Eligibility & Registration

Families wishing to attend the event are encouraged to pre-register to streamline the check-in process. Pre-registration can be completed via Eventbrite at Pathways to Independence and Empowerment Christmas Toy Giveaway. Proof of residency in St. Bernard Parish and need-based eligibility are required to ensure the toys reach families in need. Walk-up families are welcome but may experience longer wait times.
