Nunez Community College looks to connect wind industry students, experts and employers March 28 at Windward Bound: Building Louisiana’s Future Energy Workforce.
The conference is presented by the Sustainable Energy Career Academy (SECA) at Nunez, which administers the college’s new Wind Energy Technology program. The program’s first cohort of students is on its second semester.
In order to create a network for the budding wind energy sector in Louisiana, SECA is inviting all potential partners to join us Friday, March 28, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Student Testing and Career Counseling Center on the Nunez campus.
The Windward Bound registration form can be found at Nunez.edu. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all who register, but walk-ins are welcome. Please email questions towind@nunez.edu.
SECA Coordinator Kat Bell says the time is right to start networking because wind turbine technicians are currently the fastest growing career in the country.
“This forum is a chance for the community, wind technician students, industry partners and all stakeholders to connect and collaborate. We’ll offer expert panels, a tour of the Wind Energy Technology facilities, a climbing demonstration, and more,” said Bell.
The Nunez campus is located at 3710 Paris Road in Chalmette.
