Mary Ann Perez Jeanfreau

Mary Ann Perez Jeanfreau passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025 surrounded by her family at the age of 89. Beloved wife of 53 years to the late Percy D. Jeanfreau. Mary Ann was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of Caernarvon, Louisiana. She was born on December 6, 1935, to Philipine Gonzales and Rene Perez. After her mother’s passing, she was raised by Thelma and Philip Gonzales. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Ann Jeanfreau, sister, Jane Perez Menesses and her brother, Vincent Rene Perez.

Mary Ann is survived by her son, Gary (Sharon) Jeanfreau; daughters, Charlene (Allen) Harris and Sandra (Kenny) Blanchard; grandchildren, Vincent (Laura) Jeanfreau, Christie (TJ) Willis, Daniel (Whitney) Harris and Brad (Brooke) Blanchard; great grandchildren, Alyssa Jeanfreau, Vincent Jeanfreau Jr., Sylvia Harris, Lucy Blanchard, Henry Harris, Ty Willis, Wyatt Willis and Ellis Blanchard.

She was a devoted mother who enjoyed spending time in her yard and walking her special angel, Michelle at the state park. Michelle was the love of both of their lives. She devoted her entire life in taking care of her as long as she was able. Her greatest pride and joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary Ann, Percy and Michelle loved travelling. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo and pokeno with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved listening and dancing to music especially, Fats Domino and Percy Sledge. She also enjoyed shopping.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by a mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Violet beginning at 12 noon. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
