NUNEZ PRACTICAL NURSING PINS CLASS OF SPRING 2025

Nunez Community College celebrated its Practical Nursing Class of Spring 2025 with a Pinning Ceremony May 19 in the Nunez Auditorium. Twenty-two nurses received their nursing pins May 19 in the Nunez Auditorium at the Spring 2025 Practical Nursing Pinning Ceremony.

The Student Nurses Association (SNA) Award, which went to the outstanding member with the most volunteer points throughout their time in SNA, went to KristyKeola Carter.

The Academic Achievement Award for the highest GPA in the class went to KristyKeola Carter.

The Florence Nightingale Award, presented to the nurse who demonstrates the qualities of the founder of modern nursing, went to Constant Alexander.

“Constant is quietly energized, passionate, and logical while delivering patient care. She shows empathy and compassion and truly cares for all,” said Melissa Elsensohn, Nursing Instructor. “Her actions reflect a genuine commitment to the well-being of others.”

The Spirit Award, presented to the class cheerleader, was a tie and went to two students, Terrance Johnson and Victoria Montoya.

“Terrence is described by his peers as having positive energy that is never dull. He always has kind words, prayers, and encouragement to offer before a test. He’s even known to offer help on dosage and any other school work,” said Elsensohn. “Victoria always lifts others’ spirits and makes them laugh. She could always put a smile on their faces. She is a ray of light and stayed positive and uplifting while helping to make nursing school more fun.”

Applications to Nunez’s Practical Nursing program for the Spring 2026 term will be accepted from August 1 through October 31, 2025. Registration is now open for the Fall 2025 semester for students wishing to take the prerequisite courses in order to apply for admission for Spring 2026.
