St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police hold sobriety checkpoint

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office, along with the Louisiana State Police, conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Aug. 28 in Chalmette.

Sheriff James Pohlmann said officers stopped vehicles to check for impaired drivers, which resulted in two arrests for driving while intoxicated. Several citations also were issued.

This sobriety checkpoint was held in conjunction with the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over National Enforcement Mobilization Campaign.
