Saint Bernard is the mother church for all church parishes in St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes. Saint Bernard Catholic Cemetery was established in 1787 and is the oldest extant cemetery in the New Orleans region. It is the final resting place of the Canary Islanders (Isleños) who founded St. Bernard Parish, Enslaved Africans, the Free People of Color, western European colonists and their descendants, and those who settled in St. Bernard throughout the 19th century.
Please plan to attend the luncheon to support the continued existence of historic Saint Bernard Catholic Church and Cemetery!
