Rowena “Aunt Ro” Grundmeyer Navo passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the age of 89. She was the cherished wife of the late Simon Jacob (SJ) Navo Jr. for over 63 years. Daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Dauterive Grundmeyer. Sister of the late Joseph A. Grundmeyer Jr. Loving aunt of Joseph A. Grundmeyer III, and wife Karen of Fredericksburg, VA; Shelley G. Belcher and husband John of Virginia Beach, VA; Lorianne G. Marcy and husband Michael of Melbourne Beach, FL. Great aunt of Joseph A. Grundmeyer IV of Virginia Beach, VA, Brandon J. Grundmeyer of Los Angeles, CA, Mandie R. Grundmeyer of Katy, TX and Reagan M. Marcy of Melbourne Beach, FL. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many cousins and dear friends.
Rowena was a native of New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Mandeville, LA. She was well loved and affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart. She will be deeply missed by us all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, December 19th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Mass in her memory beginning at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
