Charles Ralph Barbe passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the age of 56. He was the beloved husband of Keitha Fairburn Barbe for 31 years. Loving father of Joseph Keith Barbe (Samantha) of Alexandra, LA and Kevin Charles Barbe of Arabi, LA. Son of the late Elaine Martin Barbe and Emmette “Skip” Barbe, Jr. Grandson of the late Emmette & Edna Barbe Sr. Proud grandfather of Marie Elizabeth Barbe, Harper Rose Barbe and step-granddaughter Alexis Cosenza.
Charles was born on Friday, October 7, 1960 in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was a dedicated employee of ARC Documents Solutions and a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Chalmette, LA where he loved to sing in the choir and play drums at church. His favorite songs to sing were “I Believe” and “In the Garden.”
Charles was a member of the Chalmette High School Marching Band where he graduated in 1979. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at First Baptist Church of Chalmette, 305 East St. Bernard Highway, Chalmette, LA 70043 on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m.
