Fourth and fifth grade members from W. Smith’s Beta Club competed at the district beta club convention in Luling, LA in November and competed at the state beta club convention in Lafayette, LA in February. This summer, they will have the opportunity to showcase their talents on the national level in Disney World since they won first place in “Songfest,” and second place in the “Banner” and “Spotlight Your Club” competitions. The students are currently working together to raise enough money for their trip. At the convention, students will interact with fellow beta members to enhance leadership skills, share service ideas, and develop life-long relationships. W. Smith, Jr. Elementary is very excited for this fun opportunity to reward their students for believing and achieving academic success!
This summer W. Smith Elementary Beta Club has the opportunity to compete on a national level at the National Beta Club Convention in Orlando, Florida. For many of our fourth and fifth graders, this will be their first time traveling outside of Louisiana to showcase their abilities and talents. At the convention, students will interact with fellow beta members to enhance leadership skills, share service ideas and develop life–long relationships. Please consider helping us raise money by representing your business or organization on the back of the t–shirts that we will wear on our trip.
If you would like to help these Superstars fund their trip, please contact Kate Williams at kate.williams423@gmail.com no later than June 2, 2017. If you have questions, please call Kate Williams at (504) 418-9771 or use the e–mail above.
