On Thursday, May 25, 2017 Heaven gained another angel, our “Saint” Carolyn Edmonston St. Pierre, at the age of 76. She was the beloved mother of Donna St. Pierre Hennessey, Jay St. Pierre and the late Steven St. Pierre. Mother-in-law of Bobby Hennessey and the late Renee Magee. Proud grandmother of Monique St. Pierre (Jared), Nicole St. Pierre (Jason) and Robert Hennessey. Great grandmother of Briannah, Brian, Emmah, Leayah and Myah. Carolyn was raised by her grandparents, the late Sterling and Margaret Roberts and the late uncle Robert and aunt Rosemary Roberts. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many cousins, relatives and dear friends.
Carolyn was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in New Iberia, LA for the past 10 years. She was lovingly known as “Ms. Saint” to those around her. She enjoyed a 35-year career as a Secretary with Chalmette Middle School and for the past 8 years she managed the aftercare program at Magnolia Elementary School.
She was a kind and loving person to all those around her. She cherished her family and friends and gave special attention and love to her grandchildren, with whom she loved to laugh and play. She had a gift and passion for cooking, and always filled our hearts with love and laughter. “Ms. Saint” was the glue that held her family together, giving us the strength and courage to get us through the toughest of times. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all those touched by her love and kindness.
Relatives, friends, St. Bernard Parish School Board and Magnolia Elementary School are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, June 3rd from 11:30 a.m – 2:30 p.m, followed by a Funeral Mass in Carolyn’s memory beginning at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
