Nunez Community College announces baseball meeting and tryouts

Prospective Student Athletes Must Attend an Eligibility Meeting to Tryout in August

Nunez Community College will be fielding a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) men’s baseball team this year. Prospective student athletes must attend an eligibility meeting in order to tryout. The mandatory eligibility meeting will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10 in the Administration Building, 1st floor conference room. The campus address is 3710 Paris Road in Chalmette, Louisiana.

Prospective student athletes are required to bring the following items with them to
the eligibility meeting on Thursday, August 10, 2017:

  1. Verification that the prospective student athlete has received a physical examination administered by a qualified healthcare professional within 13 months prior to the tryout date. A copy of the physical record must be brought to the meeting. Students needing a physical can make an appointment with the Methodist Health Center at Nunez Community College beginning July 31.   2. A copy of the student’s fall 2017 class schedule at Nunez Community College. Prospective student athletes must be registered full-time for at least 12 credit hours. Students needing registration assistance should make an advising appointment by emailing

Tryouts for the Nunez baseball team will be held on Saturday, August 12 at 9:00 a.m. at the Chalmette High School baseball field located at 1100 East Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette. All prospective student athletes must first attend the eligibility meeting in order to tryout.
