St. Bernard Parish President Guy McInnis hosted a meeting of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in Chalmette High School’s Cultural Arts Center. CPRA is a board appointed to oversee Coastal activities and is chaired by the Governor’s Executive Assistant for Coastal Activities Johnny Bradberry.
Board members and other guest were welcomed with pastries and music by members of Chalmette High School’s Jazz Band. At the start of the meeting, President McInnis gave an opening statement which was followed by a monologue from Will Schneider, snippets of songs by Cypress Pop Trio and a video on the parish’s Master Plan entitled “What If.”
Chairman Bradberry thanked President McInnis for the beautiful reception. He said he was very impressed and that the bar had been set for the next parish. The day concluded with lunch which included grilled oysters, fried fish, jambalaya, baked macaroni and king cake for dessert.
