Alfred Long Favalora Sr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the age of 89. Loving husband of his devoted wife, Esther Leona Billings Favalora for 7l wonderful years. He was the father to one son, Alfred Long Favalora Jr (Sharon), and three daughters, Deborah F. McCrossen (Bill), Paula F. Spencer (Hubert) and Peggy F. Ricard (Steve).
Alfred, also known as, Butch, Brother, and Al, was a resident of Slidell, LA for the past 12 years and 77 years in St. Bernard Parish where he was born on April 18, 1928. He is the son of the late Thomas and Annie Favalora and is one of seven brothers, three sisters, three half-brothers, two half-sisters, two step-sisters and one step-brother. He is survived and loved dearly by 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Sadly, he was preceded in death by, one grandson and one great grandson.
He was known as, Brother, at Hubig Pie Company where he retired from after dedicating 42 years of service as a forman/baker. He was an active member of St. Bernard Chapter of AARP for many years where he enjoyed socializing with friends and playing bingo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, September 29, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Heart Foundation, www.heartfoundation.org or a charity of your choice.
