Huey Lee Gardner Sr., passed away at his home on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the age of 76. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years Mary Arnold Gardner; his two children Deborah Ann Hollis (Russell) and Huey Lee Gardner Jr. (Mary); five grandchildren Crystal Hollis, Charles Hollis, Sean Hollis, Matthew Gardner and Andrew Gardner; his 3 siblings Helen Meyer, Bernice Sheffield and Ernie Gardner. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents George Wiley Gardner and Ethel Mae Cook Gardner.
Huey was born on September 5, 1941 in New Orleans, LA. He was a resident of St. Bernard Parish since 1964 and has been a resident of Slidell, LA since Hurricane Katrina. Huey was a proud United States Navy Veteran and was honorably discharged in 1966. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 2000 after many years of dedicated service.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
