St. Bernard Parks and Parkways Commission partners with Community Visions Unlimited (CVU) to create art utility boxes

St. Bernard Parish Government, through the St. Bernard Parks and Parkways Commission, has teamed up with Community Visions Unlimited (CVU) to create art utility boxes for St. Bernard. This partnership was made possible by Councilmember Howard Luna and Parks and Parkways Commission Manager Carly Cameron.

CVU is now recruiting artists from St. Bernard who want to be a part of the utility art box project. Each artist receives a stipend of $250, a paint kit is furnished and boxes are primed and readied for the artist. It is easy to sign up by going tohttps://www.cvunola.org/how-art-box-project-works and download all forms, sign and return by email to cvunola@gmail.com. The artist will then be placed on a list that will receive emails with an arts brief every time CVU has a new box opportunity.

Community Visions Unlimited (CVU) is working hard to try to raise funds to do the major corridors in St. Bernard in the next year. Each box costs $750.00 to create. You can help by visiting www.cvunola.org and donating through pay pal, be sure to say it’s for St. Bernard.  Businesses can also sponsor a box for and will receive credit on the website, Facebook and Twitter.  All funds raised are used to pay for supplies and the artist. CVU is a 501c(3) nonprofit exempt organization so all donations are tax exempt.
