St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office seeking suspects in robbery

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in locating and identifying two suspects in a robbery that occurred in Arabi in the early morning hours of Friday, Sept. 22, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies responded to a call about a robbery that occurred some time between 5 and 11 a.m. in the 400 block of Norton Avenue in Arabi.

When deputies arrived on the scene they met with the victim who said as he was returning home around 5 a.m. he exited his vehicle and was struck in the face by an unknown person and rendered unconscious. When the victim awoke, he discovered his wallet containing $150 in cash and multiple credit cards was missing.

Later that same day, a white male and black female were seen on surveillance cameras inside a Walmart in eastern New Orleans unsuccessfully attempting to make a purchase with the victim’s credit card. The suspects did successfully use the victim’s credit card at a New Orleans east discount store.

The male suspect has short, dark hair and wears glasses. The black female was seen using a motorized scooter inside the Walmart.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of either of the two suspects, their  whereabouts or further information regarding this incident is asked to call the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office at (504) 271-2501 or Crimestoppers GNO at (504) 822-1111. Tipsters who call Crimestoppers can remain anonymous, do not have to testify and could be eligible for a cash reward.
