Nicholas Joseph Amato passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at the age of 87. He was the beloved husband of 46 years to Regina Lambert Amato. Loving father of Regina Stephens (Stephan Stephens) and Guy Parzynski (Stacey Parzynski). Proud grandfather of Tabetha Parzynski (Summer Capps Parzynski) and Samantha Parzynski. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Nicholas was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before settling in Carriere, MS. He enjoyed a long career and retired from Dial-One Durr Plumbing. He had a fondness for bowling with friends and family and was an active member and usher at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Chalmette, LA for over 20 years. He was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who treasured his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service in Nicholas’ memory beginning at 12:30 p.m. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
