Joyce Fernandez Humphreys went to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the age of 87.
She was the loving wife of the late Edward Humphreys. She was the mother of Joseph R. Neal (Kay), and Kathleen H. Brossette (Justin, Jr.) She was the sister of Floyd Fernandez, Sr. (Deanna), Marie Gremillion (the late Octave), Paul E. Fernandez, Jr. (Sue), Sylvia Harness (the late Jerry), and the late Joseph C. Fernandez and Paul A. Fernandez. She was the loving aunt of Stephen Harness, Michael Gremillion, Michelle Iverson, Mark Gremillion Keith Gremillion, Paul Fernandez, III, Floyd Fernandez, Jr., David Fernandez and Kenneth Fernandez. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents Paul E. Fernandez, Sr. and Ursula Sabathe Fernandez.
Joyce loved all things Disney. She was a collector of anything Disney related and surrounded herself with Disney Magic whenever possible. She was an avid football fan and was never happier than when watching the New Orleans Saints. She loved playing Bingo and catching every Mardi Gras parade she could. She was an active member of Champions Church in Winter Haven, Florida and enjoyed attending Bible Study. Joyce was a loving woman and was quick to add someone in need to her prayer list. She was much loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE, in Chalmette at 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with a Mass in her honor at 1:00 PM.
