State Testing for St. Bernard Parish students begins in April

State testing will take place for St. Bernard Parish students throughout the months of April and May. Paper-based assessments will be administered to students in grades 3 and 4, and computer-based assessments will be administered to students in grades 5-8. For students in grades 3 and 4, testing will take place April 30 – May 4, 2018.  For students in grade 5, the English Language Arts test will be administered April 10-12, 2018, and the math test will be administered April 17-19, 2018. Testing for grades 6-8 will be administered April 11-13, 2018 for English Language Arts and April 17-19, 2018 for math. High school students taking Algebra, Geometry, Biology, English, I, English II, English III and U.S. History will take an End of Course exam for each of these courses beginning the week of April 23, 2018, and throughout the month of May.

Students enrolled in state-approved home-study programs and students currently enrolled in private or parochial schools who plan to enter public schools next year in grades 5 and 9 must register for this test.  These students may participate in testing at their district public school during the scheduled testing sessions.  Registration is required for participation.  Registration forms may be completed at the St. Bernard Parish School Board Administration Office at 200 E. St. Bernard Highway until March 26, 2018.  Office hours are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday.  Registration forms may be faxed upon request.

Students currently enrolled in St. Bernard Parish public schools are not required to register for state testing.
